SMOOTH is a multi-peptide topical research lotion combining GHK-Cu, SNAP-8, and KPV. It is intended for in vitro and ex vivo models examining neuromuscular junction signaling, neuropeptide–SNARE interactions, copper-mediated matrix modulation, and pro-resolving inflammatory pathways at the skin interface.
SMOOTH integrates three mechanistically distinct components: GHK-Cu for copper transport and ECM-related signaling,[1] SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) as a SNAP-25–mimetic peptide used to study SNARE complex interactions and exocytosis,[2] and KPV (Lys-Pro-Val), an α-MSH-derived tripeptide investigated for anti-inflammatory and barrier-supportive effects in epithelial systems.[3,4] This combination provides a versatile platform for dissecting how neuromodulatory, matrix-regulating, and pro-resolving peptide signals converge in cutaneous models, without suggesting cosmetic claims.
SNAP-8 is utilized to probe competitive interference with SNARE-mediated vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release.[2] In a topical research format, it supports analysis of neuromuscular tension, neuronal input, and secretory activity in skin–muscle co-cultures or innervated 3D models, focusing on vesicle trafficking endpoints.
GHK-Cu contributes documented effects on collagen synthesis, MMP regulation, and antioxidant gene expression in dermal models.[1] SMOOTH enables controlled assessment of how copper-peptide signaling influences structural protein expression, integrin dynamics, and redox status when co-present with neuromodulatory peptides.
KPV has been studied for its ability to modulate pro-inflammatory cytokines and support epithelial integrity in preclinical systems.[3,4] Within SMOOTH, it offers a tool to evaluate anti-inflammatory signaling cascades and barrier-associated readouts alongside neuromuscular and ECM endpoints.
