5-Amino 1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small-molecule NNMT inhibitor, not a peptide. Supplied as a lyophilized powder in sealed vials. Each batch has its own certificate of analysis (COA), which opens when you scan the QR code on the label. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small-molecule quaternary quinolinium cation that inhibits nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) by binding at the nicotinamide substrate site. It came out of a structure-activity study of N-methylated aromatic scaffolds by Neelakantan, Watowich and colleagues at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2017. It is usually supplied as the iodide salt.
It transfers a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) to nicotinamide, producing 1-methylnicotinamide.
The active species is the cation (≈ 159.2 g/mol); it is supplied as a salt, usually the iodide (286.1 g/mol). The COA states the form tested.
Scan the QR code on the vial. It opens the certificate of analysis for that lot, with HPLC purity and the mass spectrometry identity result.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Literature references are provided for scientific context and do not describe this product's suitability for any use.
